Accusations Against Anonymous
The Church of Scientology has levied many accusations against Anonymous, both individual members and Anonymous as a whole. These include that we're cyber terrorists, super hackers, religious bigots, vandals, that we hate homosexuals and African Americans, and so on and so forth.
I'd like to set the record straight once and for all that none of that is true. If carrying out peaceful protests equates to being a cyber terrorist, then that's the silliest thing I've eer heard. While some individual members of Anonymous have been involved with hacking Scientology websites, all of those individuals have been held responsible for their actions and are facing the consequences. As for if we're religious bigots, nothing could be farther from the truth. As I explained thoroughly in the last section, no one in Anonymous is protesting the doctrines of the Church of Scientology, and no one is arguing against the right of every individual to practice whatever religion they choose. What we are protesting is the organization and leadership of the Church of Scientology; that's not the religion, that's the church, that's the organization. They are not protected by the Constitution from facing the consequences of unlawful activity, and furthermore, we are not bigots for advocating justice.
As for the accusations that we are prejudiced against homosexuals, African Americans, or any other gender, race, nationality, religion, whatever, that is completely untrue, both about myself and the Anonymous that I know. The whole point of Anonymous is that all of those qualifiers, all of those labels that serve to separate us as human beings, don't even enter into our collective. The point of being anonymous is that we don't have to ask if someone is black or white, straight or gay, before we listen to what they have to say. In my own opinion, only when we stop caring about those differences are we truly equal.
Granted, I can't speak for every single individual "anon" out there. I can't tell you for certain what's in their hearts. But I can tell you about myself, and I can tell you about the countless anons I've met. I can tell you about my friends, my family, my colleagues. I know all of them to be loving, caring, open-minded individuals who deeply love their fellow man and wish no harm upon anyone, no matter who they are. Any accusations to the contrary are simply untrue. And furthermore, this isn't exactly the first time that the Church of Scientology has said such things about those who stand against them.
If you have any doubts, please investigate for yourself. Whether it be about Scientology's history of how they treat their critics, or even the actual accusations against Anonymous. The information is out there, the truth is there for you to find. All we ask is that you look for it. P
