Our Goals

Our first goal is to have Scientology's tax exemption status reviewed by the courts and hopefully repealed. We definitely at least want their religious education tax exemption abolished - they are the only church in the United States that receives this particular tax exemption and it has been recognized by the courts as being in violation of The Establishment Clause of the Constitution. For more information on their tax exemption and how it was obtained, click here.

Next we would like a full unhindered investigation into Scientology's organization, leaders, the Office of Special Affairs, and pretty much every single front organization operated by Scientology. Even with everything we know about what the leaders and the organization have already done - i.e. Operation Freakout, Operation Snow White, the mysterious deaths - I really think that's just the tip of the iceberg, so to speak. I'm positive there's so much more to be discovered, and there's so much even about those specific incidents that we don't know yet. In the past, official investigations have been hindered, interrupted, and thwarted by the leaders of Scientology. That needs to stop, and the police and the FBI should have unrestricted access as guaranteed by law.

The leaders of the church and those responsible for various criminal activities need to be brought to trial for the crimes they've committed. Those trials need to be completely just, free from any sort of tampering by the church.

Several abusive policies of the Church of Scientology need to be completely abolished. Those policies include Disconnection, Fair Game, the recording of private auditing confessions, the slow seclusion of its members as they're removed from their family and friends, and so on.

Charges and fees for religious services either need to be completely done away with, or the organization needs to lose the entirety of its tax exemption and be recognized as the business that it really is. Either behave the way other churches are expected to behave, or be honest and behave like a business and meet all the requirements and laws other businesses abide by.

Restitution needs to be made to those whom the organization has abused and mistreated. Public apologies should be issued, and those directly responsible for those abuses should be brought to justice and face the consequences of their actions.

Members need to be told by the leaders that if they need medical treatment or medications that there's no sin in taking care of your body and taking medication if you need it (i.e. Tory Christman's experiences where she was told to stop taking her epilepsy medication, or Jeremy Perkins who was taken off his medication for paranoid schizophrenia.)

Members need to have access to the real world - Scientology's mandatory "Net Nanny" programs need to be taken off the members' computers, or members at least need to be told that this program is on their computer and restricting their access to vital information. The doctrine needs to be readily available to everyone in the church and anyone considering joining. People have the right to see both sides of any issue, but Scientology denies them that right. That needs to stop.

The complete and absolute truth needs to be divulged about all the instances where Scientology carried out their Fair Game policy, and those who have been victimized deserve to know what was done to them, who organized it, to what extent it was carried out, and who did the actual leg work to carry out the orders of whoever organized it.

I could go on and on about all the little details that need to be changed, but I think this is pretty much a good little synopsis of the biggest points.
